NEWMARKET, N.H. – ArgenTech Solutions, Inc. received the 2018 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award today at a ceremony at the Pentagon for the outstanding support ArgenTech Solutions shows their National Guard and Reserve service member employees.

Vice President of Commercial Services Jennifer Armstrong accepted the award for ArgenTech Solutions.

Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert Wilkie, who is himself an Air Force Reserve officer, presented ArgenTech Solutions and 14 other patriotic employers the 2018 Freedom Award on behalf of Secretary of Defense James N. Mattis.

Wilkie expressed how employers also sacrifice for the country by saying, “The service that the companies, the police departments, the small businesses also give to America by allowing those men and women to remind their fellow citizens on a daily basis that the price of freedom is not free and that their fellow citizens sleep well at night because of their sacrifices. So I thank you all for everything you do to keep the flame of freedom alive.”

Capt. Jay Lorentz, from the Army Reserve, nominated ArgenTech Solutions for the Freedom Award in part because his employer supports their military employees by providing 30 days of full-paid leave annually to help bridge cash flow transitions from a civilian to a military paycheck. Employees retain the same benefits for up to three months. Furthermore, and the company trains their supervisory staff in Mental Health First Aid for Veterans and Military through the National Council of Behavioral Health to help identify and respond to danger signs of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

ArgenTech Solutions, based in Newmarket, was picked for this prestigious award from nearly 2,000 employers who were nominated by more than 2,350 Guard and Reserve service member employees. ArgenTech Solutions, along with 14 other recipients of the 2018 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award, joins 250 other patriotic employers who have received the award and comprise the Freedom Award Society.

The Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award represents the pinnacle of the employer recognition program ran by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a Department of Defense program. ESGR promotes cooperation and understanding between reserve component service members and their civilian employers and assists in the resolution of conflicts arising from employees' military commitments.

Service members wishing to nominate their civilian employer for a Freedom Award may do so at between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31, 2018.
