ArgenTech Solutions, in Partnership with Performance Indicator, wins Navy Visual Signature Reduction Technology SBIR Award
Durham, NH and Lowell, MA (16 December, 2009) - The U.S. Navy’s Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) has awarded a Phase I Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) contract to ArgenTech Solutions, Inc. The SBIR seeks to develop technology that will improve the stealth and signature of a submerged maritime vehicle while on or near surface, or in littoral waters. ArgenTech Solutions will partner with Performance Indicator, LLC to leverage their extensive experience in advanced coatings to create a solution which can greatly reduce the visual signature of a vessel while being cost effective over the vessel’s life cycle.
“Reducing a vessel’s visual signature through camouflage can be accomplished through a number of strategies including passive coating technologies”, said Keith Haney, President of ArgenTech Solutions. “Through this work, a new generation of dynamic coatings will be created which not only benefits a vessel’s stealth, but can be leveraged for other mission critical needs of the U.S. Department of Defense.”
